What TV shows did you start watching in 2013?
Almost Human, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Sleepy Hollow, Haven, started properly watching Hawaii Five-0 from the first season, Star Trek the Original Series, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Power Rangers R.P.M, Power Rangers Jungle Fury, Power Rangers Samurai, Go On, Jeeves & Wooster, and Green Lantern the Animated Series.

What TV show did you let go of in 2013?
Once Upon a Time and The Vampire Diaries. The former because I don't really much care for the Peter Pan story arc--but I might have to get back into it solely for Ariel and Tinkerbell (who's being played by a former Power Ranger!!! And one of my favorites!!! eeeee!!!) and if they ever officially make Mulan/Aurora A Thing. The latter because I've gotten sick of it; it's declined in quality--not that it was ever anything more than a high school soap opera but the mysteries and world-building and twists kept it pretty balanced.

Which TV show did you mean to get into in 2013 but didn't? Why?
Possibly One Tree Hill--got up to almost finishing s3 on my proper watch before I stopped because I didn't have Netflix anymore but now I have it again so I have no idea why I didn't get back into it. Well, actually the why is that there was no time and SO MUCH OTHER SHOWS TO WATCH. And Legend of Korra (I um I only got six episodes in before I stopped for some reason? And never started up again?)

What TV show do you intend to check out in 2014?
Hmm, maybe Nikita? I've been meaning to check out that show forever who remembers that 90's La Femme Nikita show? no? just me? carry on then.
Reign? Though I did catch a couple of scenes and it looks interesting mainly because it features a female lead but the triangle would probably turn me off. Witches of East Wick. And How I Met Your Mother (from the beginning). Oh and Scandal. Orphan Black. Orange is the New Black. Veep. Husbands. Legend of the Seeker. Helix, if only to try it out but it might border too much on the "horror" scale for me (but Billy Campbell!). Arrow. Chuck. Maybe get into Supernatural again. Merlin. White Collar. Fringe. Lost Girl. Prison Break. Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Killer Women. And my Netflix keeps recommending I watch The Elephant Princess.

What TV show impressed you least in 2013?
So far--Beauty and the Beast.

What show did you enjoy most in 2013?
I enjoy pretty much all the media I consume (even sometimes problematic things that make me angry which is kinda weird). That being said, here's a short list: Parks and Rec, Castle, Psych, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Eureka, Elementary, Sleepy Hollow, Almost Human, Warehouse 13, and Go On.

I've shared a fandom_stocking link over on tumblr, but it hadn't occurred to me to share it here on LJ/DW (it has only occurred to me now since I'm seeing some people on my flist linking to their own).

I'm here, if anyone feels like looking it over or whatnot.

I am somewhat oddly proud of this fic? Because the first several attempts at it (at both the Reichenbach interpretation and the crossover) did not go over too well. I did not cry writing it because, of course, Sherlock is not dead. Joan (along with everybody else) just thinks he is.

I am not at all caught up with Elementary though and I got spoiled on some of the episodes looking at Castle/Elementary gifsets on Tumblr (OOOOOOMGGG SOMETHING HORRIBLE HAPPENS TO [CHARACTER] AHHHHH MY PRECIOUS BABBBBBY)

I do have some more plans for this crossover, but we shall see if they materialize.

I signed up for another bingo. I know, I know. I've yet to finish trope_bingo, but I just couldn't resist this one. It's Power Rangers themed. Also, PRtropebingo does not have a schedule like the rest, so y'know whenever I get to them...And, for no reason at all, my love for the series has come back full force recently. (Well, okay, it could also be because I've only been watching Power Rangers on Netflix and nothing else. I kinda feel bad about it, but PR is so cracktastic and awesome and I'm pretty sure this is not just the nostalgia talking, so I also *don't* feel bad that I've only been watching them on Netflix.)

Overall, I thought this was a much better ep than "Lay Me Down", although that's not saying much because I still think everyone has been so wildly out of character so far this season. But I guess I should let it go because it is a new season and things have changed, and I can't expect them to remain the same characters. I acknowledge that, but I could still do without the stupidity that's been plaguing some of the characters.

The trouble of the week was very cool, though. Terrifying, but cool. And I love that Audrey/Nathan have consummated their relationship. Yayyy! After three long seasons of UST, it's about damn time. And 'm so happy about Duke/Jennifer too.

Still sad about Jordan being gone. Vince and Dave continue to be the best thing about Haven, imho. I wish we could find out if they're Troubled or not.

I'm behind on Elementary and Castle, and might not get caught up until next week. The last two weeks have just been essays, essays, essays, midterm, and one more essay due this Tuesday so that's all my head could handle.

I was the only younger looking person at the Q&A at the O'Brien Poetry Event Friday featuring Charles Simic. It made me feel extremely self-conscious, but I got through it.

The bad news is I left before I got an autograph, but it's okay. It was just great seeing him speak and read. I brought a new book of his poetry at Longfellows, which is what screwed me from buying a pre-autographed book they had at the event. I guess I'll just chalk this up to a learning experience, and not berate myself.

Charles Simic, the 2007 poet laureate (and one of my all-time favorite poets) will be at the O'Brien Poetry Event my university holds every year.

And this year it falls on a Friday (next Friday), technically my free day were it not for my part time job.

But that's okay, I'll just come into work early and be out before the event starts--my shift is only for three hours on Fridays.

Now, the more pertinent question: what books of his should I buy?

And will I get the courage to get the book signed by him??

(I'd like his autograph, but that'd have to involve me actually interacting with him. And I am not made for such things.)

But I am so excited!!! And I almost passed out from excitement when I saw the flyer.

I wish there was some way to know who has you author subscribed on Ao3, just out of morbid curiosity. I know people like their anonymity and privacy, and that's okay, but again, I just want to know if people are there for small fandoms or big fandoms or which particular character/pairing or whatnot. I wouldn't even need usernames necessarily! Just something like:
[x person] subscribed for [x fandom] and the 'x' would stay as an 'x' in the [x person] example. I know there'd be some logistical problems with this, but I'd like to think they could be solved. I'm thinking this would be useful for people like me who are multi-fannish so trying to guess why people are subscribed to you is a crap-shoot. (The stats do tell you which stories people have subscribed to, which is awesome. And nerve-wrecking, but mostly awesome.)

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the statistics we do get, but you know human nature. You get a little taste of something you like, and then, all of a sudden, you want to binge on both the chocolate and ice cream (or is that just me?).

Sigh. I've become obsessed with a new show–Sleepy Hollow. I will tell you I wanted to watch it because:
a) damn, do I love the legend
b) it looked like it had awesome characters (John Cho! You were the deciding factor in me watching it now instead of waiting until forever but...I'm so conflicted about your character. Do I hate you? Do I sympathize with you? I don't know what I'm feeling. Someone tell me. I want to hate him but then I also hope there's more to the character's back-story than that he was feeling like being a henchman for demonic forces.)
c) Ichabod Crane is hot.
d) Actually, the whole cast is hot.
