2. I will comment telling you the following:
a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
b. One of his/her best traits
c. One of his/her worst traits

Date: 2013-12-02 05:50 pm (UTC)I love Steph, but am not sure I can wholly explain why. I mean, she's delightfully spunky and sassy and I relate to her a whole lot more than I do to any other Bat characters. It's one of the reasons why I don't find Batman an appealing character. Don't get me wrong, I like him as far as the good guys go, but he's too grim and dark and...unyielding for me. Steph is of course his total opposite. I seem to like Batman only when his books predominately feature side characters (like Jim Gordon whom I love unholy amounts).
b. One of his/her best traits
Her sunny disposition, the fact that she can make fun of herself, and not take herself/the crime-fighting business too seriously; the fact that she never gives up even when life gives her shit, I can't choose.
c. One of his/her worst traits
This is more a case of how one sees her determination. Her stubbornness is something to be admired, sure, but I think it also gets her into a lot of trouble. I suppose it's a less than endearing trait, depending on how one looks at it.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character
I FIND IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO WRITE STEPH. Mostly because she's snarky and sassy and utterly delightful. I mean, that's why I love the character so freakin' much but it also paralyzes me when I'm trying to write her that way, y'know.
e. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character
Well, there was that just one little ficlet I wrote that was kinda about Stephanie, but didn't really feature her at all. Having said that, I do think this paragraph encapsulates what she is in such a short space: Alfred's head tilted a bit to one side, as though he was thinking of the best way to phrase this. "Miss Stephanie thought it fun to decorate the manor for trick-or-treaters...and I agreed."
f. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future
I'd like to. Man, would I love to, but the muse, she is ever fickle.

b. One of his/her best traits
Gus is extremely loyal. Lesser men would've gotten off the crazy train years ago, but not Gus. It's admirable and why I love Gus so much--well, this and the fact that Gus is awesome even without being likened to the sidekick of the duo. Shawn needs Gus as much as Gus needs Shawn.
c. One of his/her worst traits
That he's often considered the "safer" choice. In comparison to Shawn, Gus is the reliable one, the one you can bring home to meet the parents. Gus represents stability, or--to put it a worse way--stagnation. He often seems to be doing only what is being expected of him, and being...well, safe.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character
Relatively easy. Gus is a firm character in terms of his morals, and values, and I find that to be a good focus from which to spring.
e. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character
Honestly, I don't think I have yet (pretty much everything I've written that has featured Gus has been so short).
f. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future
Maybe? I've kinda moved away from being fannish about the show, but I'd never say never.
