The Moving Finger writes; and having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

-The Rubaiyat of Omar KhayyamM

Wow, you know I have tried to stay away from lj for one week? (Wasn't very successful though because I cheated once.) And now I feel so disconnected! (I am so addicted to this thing.)

Catching up on some memes.

This week's [livejournal.com profile] fannish5:

Name five minor characters whose lives and histories you'd like to see explored more (in canon or fanfic). (Not so much minor characters, well with a few exceptions.)

1. Doctor Who: Sally Sparrow. I loved her and I wish they'd show more of her. She's so...cool!

2. Inuysha: Inu no Taishou. I wish we could know more about him. He sounds very interesting.

3. Twilight: Emmett Cullen. I love Emmett. I wish we could get some info on his life before he became a vampire. Every Cullen's story was told but his. WHY???

4. Torchwood: Ianto Jones. We get little snippets into his life, but not a lot.

5. Howl's Moving Castle: the Witch of the Waste. Even though she's not my most favorite character, I'd really wish we could get some insight into her life, like why she was the way she was in both the movie & book.

NANOWRIMO: I'm not "officially" participating this year. (Which just means that I haven't gotten a chance write a single word yet and so, besides the busy time November is going to be for me without even NaNo, I will not be participating this year. Which does make me sad. :( But on the bright side, I will still be working on the three original stories I did start on some time ago. Hopefully I can finish one of them before the month ends. We shall see.)

Um, what else? Oh, I just finished reading the MOST AWESOME BOOK in the universe! Poison by Chris Wooding (and the title is misleading in a way). Anyone read any of his work? He is an award-winning author. But I haven't heard of him until some four weeks ago. (Lol.)

He wrote several other books like Storm Thief,The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray, and Kerosene. (Among other things.) He is a very young author though. (Which surprised me when I googled him. I thought he was some old guy.) And he mainly writes science-fi/young adult.

Poison is about this young girl named Poison whose baby sister Azalea is kidnapped by phaeries. Poison decides to leave Gull to seek the Phaerie Lord to get her sister back. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. I don't want to spoil anyone in case they want to read it. But it's definitely going to surprise them once they get to the end. Wooding creates twists and turns that you can barely know what will happen next. And the writing is phenomenal. The characters are developed nicely and three-dimensional; you can sympatize with them. Besides the awesome characters, there's also a lot of suspense and action (that I liked and kept me interested in the story). The novel is very imaginative and original.

My little book review of this novel doesn't do it justice. But that's because it's so good I have no idea how to even being a good review of it. I am left speechless. I would read this, just because it's interesting.

And I should post this all ready; the browser has been open since this morning...
