My older brother and his girlfriend came back from vacationing in the Philippines and Korea for a week early/late Sunday morning. For a few hours in the early/late morning, while my parents went to Boston to pick them up from the airport (because their flight came in at midnight and there apparently weren't any buses, I have no idea, they just needed a ride home from the airport) I was left ALONE. Thankfully, the house didn't burn down and no one dangerous came in to kidnap/rob me (apparently, I have a pretty wild imagination that makes things way worse for me than they are in reality).

Last night, I stayed up until four in the morning looking at HP fanart. I only look at fanart in "binges" - that is insane amount of time passes before I encounter anything, and then once I start, I can't stop at just ONE. It's an illness and if anyone discovers a cure, I will happily volunteer to be your guinea pig to try it first.

"Stay Close to Me" by mudblood428: This depicts the DH scene when Sirius, Lily, James, and Remus appear to Harry in the forest with the Resurrection Stone. I just really like the colors and how this artist drew everybody; there's a feeling of regality, for lack of a better word, I get from looking at this piece. It's heartbreaking and warm and so sweet. ♥♥♥ (The movie version better have this scene EXACTLY like this or...else. *scary grin*)

We Can Explain by thanfiction: Ahhh! FRED AND GEORGE!! I HEARTS THEM SOOO MUCH. (Because, as everyone knows, twins are the COOLEST. Yes, they are, don't argue with me. I know.) And here they're...naked...and dirty...and um. Yeah. ♥

Professor by perselus: A very serious portrait of Snape that's very similar to movie!Snape and looks awesome. ♥

Remus Lupin by stellamoon: Um. Yeah. Another nekkid picture. Of Remus. GAHHHHHH. Is this man gorgeous here!! ♥ Even with his scars, he's sooo sexy. (The only bitsy thing that bothers me is there's this black mark over his left eye that makes it look like he doesn't have one and that's a shame because his right eye is gorgeous.)

Dirty Work by thanfiction: Um. Dirty!older!Neville? YES PLEASE. *stares and grins goofily some more* ♥♥♥

Petunia by Gerre: Awww, Petunia. ♥ This shows two different paths for Petunia - what the road would've been like if she had been a witch like Lily and what happened when she wasn't. ♥

Harry on the Sofa by stellamoon: A half-nekkid picture of Harry! Done by the same author who did the nekkid!Remus picture I'm in love with! It's pretty. ♥

lovely summer's pride by spacefragments: I LOVE LOVE the colors here; it viscerally feels like summer and it just makes me wanna eat sunshine or something. I also really love how expressive James and Lily are here (really the WHOLE picture is so expressive and vibrant and brimming with warmth and sunshine). ♥♥

Twitterpated by _odella_: *melts* I am soooo in LOVE with this. The poses and the realism and there's just something inexplicably beautiful drawn here. ♥♥♥

The Untold Truth of Their Happiness by chibitoaster: This is really pretty and bright. The words are bittersweet and heartbreaking and lovely. ♥♥

Letter to a dead man by nassima: A wonderful 3-part comic. I can only say that it's awesome and pretty and I love how the words are written and how it's drawn. It's perfect. ♥♥ (Even if you aren't a shipper, the first part isn't overtly slash but it is heartbreaking.)

Homecoming by kasche: Another awesomely sweet R/S piccy. I love how Remus is drawn here. He seems so innocent/sweet. ♥♥

And: Random Thoughts I've Had About Harry Potter

*It would be awesome to meet Neville's grandmother because she sounds awesome.

*So if one were to suppose that Lily didn't choose James and had actually married Snape, would Harry Potter still be Harry Potter? The Boy Who Lived? Or would Snape and Lily's child be someone completely different? Would the prophecy about Harry still hold true? Or would it fall on Neville to battle the Dark Lord? (Maybe I'm misremembering things but I could've sworn I read something about Neville and Harry being born almost hours apart from each other and that had something to do with the prophecy Harry found in the Ministry. Can't find the passage now.)

*Why in the world is Brian a part of Dumbledore's extremely long name?

Yes, Neville could have been the chosen one as well, but as soon as Voldemort attacked Harry he made Harry the only possible chosen one. So, if Lily had chosen Snape, they had had a child at the same time that Lily had Harry originally, and Snape and Lily still defied Voldemort three times, it's likely that Harry still would have been chosen.

I read at the Lexicon something about how Brian was part of Dumbledore's name as a kind of joke against the old fashioness of all the rest of his names.
