"Luck in Sarajevo"
Izet Sarajlić

In Sarajevo
in the spring of 1992,
everything is possible:

you go to stand in a bread line
and end up in an emergency room
with your leg amputated.

Afterwards, you still maintain
that you were very lucky.

An admirable attitude, and pretty amazing philosophy and makes you think... <3

This poem hits pretty close to the chest. I love it for many reasons, for its social commentary; for its simplicity; how it says so much in so few lines and for its "amazing philosophy" definitely.
