dahlia_moon(I had meant to post this review last week - and that's when I started writing it up...as you can see I failed. Trying again.)
So the good things about this episode:
- Chloe being a total BAMF. Seriously. I love that this show doesn't just focus on the *super heroes* doing all the saving but normal people too. Although...come to think of it...I have no idea what passes for "normal" in Smallville. And Chloe did have powers for a while there. So technically she was kinda a superhero? ANYWAYS the point is Chloe kicked butt. And saved everyone. And was pretty much the focus of this episode - which I majorly liked.

- And this scene too.
(Although I kinda find it weird that she just shows up in a cocktail-y sort of dress. Are they going on a date? Why don't they show these things? Would they be just too boring to show?)
- I also found myself liking Dinah/Black Canary. I wish more people liked her too. She's not so bad. (And I got really excited when Chloe and Dinah started fighting each other. Because that was super awesomely cool. I'm not ashamed to admit I found it a little hot.)
- Lois is just awesome all around.
The bad things:
- Smallville could pretty much be called Cheeseville too. I have no idea why I haven't noticed. (OK, so I haven't watched all ten seasons.)
- I have to be honest and say that Clark not trusting Chloe bothered me to the extreme. I know things have happened in the past where his trust in Chloe was misplaced but I think it's time to move on. And it's boring to watch Clark be conflicted about it when there's really no sensible reason for him to be conflicted in that regard. Chloe has done so much for him and proven herself over and over again - it's just. I love the Chloe/Clark friendship but it makes me sad when Clark is being a jerk.
Looks like a Lionel centric episode next week which just - ugh. But the bright side is there'll be Martha Kent too!! And she's totally awesome.
The good things about "Beacon":
- MARTHA KENT. I've always loved her.
- Chloe and Lois. Seriously. By themselves, they're BAMF, but together they're like BAMF multiplied by a thousand.
The bad:
- Not enough Chloe/Oliver :( (OK, so we did get to see some skin and that moment in Watchtower was so very sweet - and the hug at the end was awesome too - but they were all brief moments!)
- The Martha/Lionel. Seriously. This Lionel is a creeper. And ugh. Yeah. Don't like him.
I have to be honest and say I didn't like "Beacon" as much as the other episodes of season ten. I dunno. It felt like it lacked something.
