This would've been out before 3am today, but the computer decided to freeze up on me, and as I hadn't been clever enough as to save the drabbles somewhere else...I lost everything. (WHEN WILL I EVER LEARN?? THIS COMP IS SHITTY AND FROM '98- OF COURSE IT'LL UNEXPECTEDLY STOP WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF SERIOUS WRITING BUSINESS!!)
1. The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Cindy/Jimmy, 'Pretend'
The first time they kiss, it ends up being accidental. Cindy trips, and her lips somehow land on Jimmy's when she takes him down with her.
It then so happened that their other five kisses end up being purely accidental as well. Cindy, for her part, developed a klutz complex around her crush, and took advantage of their close proximity whenever her "klutziness" attacked.
Jimmy, the science genius that he was (being that didn't help him much in this situation), never quite caught on that Cindy might have been pretending. Cindy then suspected that the boy wasn't as clever as he appeared to be, either that or he was pretending to play dumb. But Cindy never entertained the idea of the possibility of Jimmy liking her in that way, so she never thought of the latter as being possible.
So, it came as quite a shock to them both when everyone else announced to them that they were in love. (When could that have possibly happened?)
2. Avatar: The Last Airbender, Zuko/Katara, 'Antagonizing'
"You know, I hated you once."
Zuko turned his head slightly to look at Katara. Of course she hated him. His nation waged wars, oppressed, and murdered people. Frankly, he hated himself too.
"Don't you want to know if I hate you still?"
"Why should it matter to me?"
"Well, I don't know! But you don't have to act as though you are an almighty king- you're not that yet!" She stormed off.
Gazing at the stars, Zuko smiled bitterly to himself. When would he ever learn? He shouldn't antagonize the waterbender if he was trying to get on her good side.
3. Charmed, Piper/Cole, 'Wrong'
"This is wrong. We shouldn't be doing this." Piper said breathing heavily from having her mouth kissed thoroughly.
"That's why this is all exciting- because it's wrong." Cole went back to devouring her lips hungrily with his own.
Piper closed her eyes. She knew she would regret this later, but all her mind could focus on then was how Cole's hot breath intermingled with her own.
4. Chocolat, Chitza/George, 'Wind'
After the ecstasy of being with George ended, the reality of her world crashed on her like a boulder. She loved him. There was no doubt about it in her mind, and yet...The wind still called out to her; called her to explore everything else the world had to offer, to wander off and visit everything and everyone else she hadn't seen.
She couldn't settle down; she had to keep moving, always moving in tune with the souls and dances of her ancestors past. What hurt her the most wasn't the harsh, ruthless wind calling out to her, never making her feel like she belonged or felt rooted to one place, no it was the begs and pleas of George to stay with him.
The wind was harsh, but so was she. They were both one and the same.
5. The Princess Bride, Dread Pirate Roberts (Westley)/Buttercup, 'Old Love'
The Dread Pirate Roberts looked at the beautiful Buttercup...he loved her deeply, even after all these years. But, he still couldn't let go of the fact that she was engaged to another. That fact hurt him more than anything, and was always at the forefront of his thoughts, ever since he followed the miscreants and saw them kidnap her...
No, he had to keep his emotions at bay, and just keep Buttercup safe. It didn't matter that she was right there next to him, or that he was alive...Five years was apparently enough time for her to grieve and move on.
Five years was apparently enough time for an old love to die.
