Beauty and the Beast
I think this was one of the strongest episodes of season one (though I skipped out on last week's episode because I was so tired and didn't feel like numbing my mind even further with the show). It definitely still felt cheesy in places but I feel like they're upping the stakes now (not that it felt like everything was safe, but for a kind of crime procedural show mixed in with fantasy and supernatural elements, the show tended to veer on the safe side more often than not.) Alas, the show has not reconciled Tess' and Cat's super duper awesome partnership. And judging by previews of next week's episode, the shit is gonna hit the fan even more than it already has (because, up until this point, Tess has only had sneaking suspicions and a disjointed kind of fragmentary truth that Something-with-a-capital-s was up with Cat but no concrete evidence; now she will definitely know.) Sigh.
I might be warming up to the Cat and Vincent relationship though. They're at that hot stage right now, but...that's really the only thing they have going for them unfortunately: they're so pretty to look at (I say like that's a bad thing...)
Castle
I love Ryan the best. And Esposito. "Nah, I c-can't. I can't watch that. If I watch that, it's gonna make my partner out to be a wimp, and I can't have that." Sure, Espo, whatever you say. I also loved that Castle has a bucket list, and one item on that bucket list is apparently to meet Bill Shatner. (And number one is to be with Beckett. LOVE.)
Ha! Castle keeps holy water around. "Knew it would come in handy one day."
So. That was a very scary episode. But then I'm more like Castle, in that I get spooked by everything. And I could be led into believing everything. Which is why Ryan was so very awesome this episode. I feel like I can relate to him better than I can to the other characters. And Castle and Ryan are similar in their personalities that I feel like I can say I relate to Castle also, mostly because of my predilection to make up stuff.
I will always blame Wes Craven for my younger phase of believing in the boogyman though, and not being able to sleep without covering my head because apparently that works to keep you safe from the boogyman? I dunno, man, I was young and watched one of his movies where that boogyman who looked like Freddy Krueger (was it a Freddy Krueger movie I watched? I have no idea but it probably was) came tearing through the protagonist's bed sheets. and other awful things.

Date: 2013-03-22 06:11 pm (UTC)Espo & Ryan moment absolutely BEST part of Castle ep, oh man :D :D :D Castle's bucket list has made an appearance on the Castle website before - idk if it's the same one or revised, but I remember it being super fun.

Date: 2013-03-25 09:01 pm (UTC)I didn't encounter Castle's bucket list prior to the episode so the fact that it made an appearance at all was awesome and funny (considering what an utterly dark episode it was).

Date: 2013-03-24 09:51 am (UTC)I am glad you're enjoying those shows, I am looking forward to the new Star Trek movie, and I get a lot of info about things like the Avengers, Batman, Star Wars, and they're making new trilogies and stand alone, so that will be exciting, to the many other things coming out, all I need now is news on a new SG1 or Atlantis or new project-film and I'll die happy! LOL
I am going to partake in a BBQ soon, and have a glass of dry red merlot, yum! ^_^
I hope life in Maine is good and everyone is well, and *hugs to you too!* X
