I didn't like Eclipse. I was angry with teh writing in the last 200 pages, and I hated how it was in Bella's POV yet her thoughts so jumbled up that you don't know how she feels. I feel Stephenie could have written those pages so much better--it was definitely rushed. The grammar and spelling errors in my copy didn't help that thought either (though they did eventually ease up). ^^;
I didn't like Bella in this one. I liked Jacob until I hit page 330 and then that all went to hell. Bella made me angry, and Edward was still so wonderfully my favorite character. I actually felt... very sad for him after reading (super rant in LJ about that, but don't read until you finish).
The plot bothered me too. It was nice for the first twenty or so chapters, but it starts to lose something toward the end... This book could have easily been my favorite one had the writing been better and one certain character not so extreme (I can't stand him at the point.. will not tell you which character, though it's pretty obvious).
It's funny that you say you like Gaspard Ulliel as Edward. I had no idea who he was until someone pointed it out to me two days ago and I ran into all this fanart with him as Edward yesterday and he definitely looked like an Edward. *sigh* This is bad though because if he's not casted as Edward, I will now be very sad.
