the truth is not kind, and you've said neither am I
Pretty recently, someone over at scans_daily posted these Jessica Jones scans from her book ALIAS. The only exposure I have had to Jessica Jones was from seeing her in Young Avengers (and I think she makes a cameo in Avengers: The Children's Crusade too), where she appears to be a reporter and is pregnant with Danielle. But, to me, she's one of those supporting characters who captivated me SO MUCH that I NEEDED MORE OF HER (YA doesn't totally deliver on this front because it's not HER story, which I understand because it focuses on the young group of Avengers so y'know...but that still didn't help the fact that I wanted to know more about her and read her story from the very beginning.)
It's pretty much these comic scans that lovely people over at scans_daily post that had me shipping Jessica Jones/Steve Rogers too. Steve Rogers/Tony Stark does nothing for me, which is unfortunate because 90% of fandom ships it (which, yeah, I can see it, though I can't get totally behind it; also, why would you NOT want to ship RDJ and Chris Evans when you could? I TOTALLY GET THAT. They are both awesome characters both in the movies and comics). But, whatever, to each their own. Tony Stark/Peter Parker however...I guess because I kinda ship Peter Parker/Everyone? (NO REALLY. But, also, Tobey Maguire and RDJ, nrghhhhhhhh.) I mean my DEFINITE DEFINITE OTP would have to be Peter Parker/Mary-Jane Watson but I'm not so hung-up on the pairing that I can't enjoy each of them sexing it up with other sexy people. Of course in ALIAS, my OTP would have to be Luke Cage/Jessica Jones because they're EPIC (with, okay, Steve Rogers joining them in a threesome every once in a while because I think Steve/Jessica/Luke could be a pretty hot thing). Of course the further I get into reading Alias, then it's all Jessica/Daredevil ♥♥ Jessica/that-police-man-from-that-racist-little-town ♥♥ Jessica/Clay Quartermaine the S.H.I.E.L.D agent-man ♥♥, Jessica/Scott Lang-the-ant-man ♥♥ So now I kinda have the same problem I had with Peter Parker: mainly wanting to ship her with everyone she interacts with. *hands* And that includes, sometimes, shipping Jessica/Carol aka Miss Marvel ♥♥ because their friendship is epic. (And then I somehow ended up being fannish about Jessica/Luke/Danny/Matt and - what is happening here self?)
The book is a lot grittier and darker and uncensored than I'm used to, but still JESSICA JONES ♥ FOREVERRRR
So having said that, I REALLY REALLY REALLY WISH for the show, AKA Jessica Jones, to be a SUCCESS - unlike a certain other show about another awesome female superhero who NBC was gonna give a show to but then it all flopped - NOT THAT I'M STILL BITTER ABOUT IT AT ALLLLLL *coughWonderWomancough* BECAUSE I'M NOT, NO REALLY.
There is apparently another book - with some scans to preview here - that feature more of Jess, Luke and baby Danielle. Which is ♥ And they're in some issues of the New Avengers, and Jess - according to her Wikipedia page - is in like 12 comics. I might start getting into certain issues of New Avengers if only for them. And Danny Rand.
So what I've gathered is that I have actual crushes on like A LOT ofpeople, uh I mean comic book characters.
*and if I could get issues #16-28 + all of Pulse all would be kittens and rainbows and nothing would hurt*
