So, I've decided that for the next fifteen days, I'm going to try to write something every day for those fifteen days. It'll be either snippets or ficlets or original stuff- whatever my muse creates. This is partially because I wanted to join [profile] writing_days today, but I wanted to be an active member, except writing twenty-five things seemed a bit daunting for me, so that's why I decided to go through my own writing project but just cut the number down to fifteen days because that I could handle.

Edward sat on his black leather couch, listening to some classical music blaring from the stereo. The sun shone into the room and threw rainbows of colors across the floor. He watched the light. It was oddly comforting.

He was bored and lonely. Bored because he had nothing worthwhile to do or anything pointless either. He had done and seen everything he was curious about and some things he wasn’t even curious about he had seen and done.

And the one person whom he had wanted to see was currently gallivanting somewhere in Hawaii. Her mother and stepfather decided to bring her along on their trip to Hawaii for Christmas Break. It was unfair and torturous- being in love with Bella Swann.

She was an angel- a creature of light and soul. And he didn’t have a soul and was a monster. They were two completely different people. He wasn’t supposed to feel this way about her. She was a mortal and she deserved to be loved by a mortal. Someone who could make her happy. Someone who she didn’t have to be afraid of.

But no matter how wrong for her he knew he was, he couldn’t stop feeling that way about her. She was incredible and special.

She awoke in him a hunger that he didn’t know how to satiate. It was terrifying and exhilarating and painful. But, Edward supposed he wouldn’t have called it true love if it didn’t hurt and was completely unreasonable and illogical.

Edward knew that love wasn’t all rainbows and sparkly sunshine and if Bella filled that empty void in his chest, he could forget, at least for awhile, that he was a dark, blood-sucking creature who hungered for her blood like a poor man starving for a loaf of bread.

I loved it! It was perfect: short and sweet, and you managed to capture Edward's thoughts to a tee. Excellent job!

By the way, have you glimpsed at the first chapter of Eclipse yet? I was at Borders the other day and they had a New Moon special edition and I had to read it. Unfortunately, my mom was in a hurry, so we had to leave (so I was only able to skim through it).

Thankies!

No, I haven't seen the first chapter of Eclipse yet. Whenever I go into Borders, I'm overwhelmed and I never find what I'm looking for (I always have to ask for assistance). I don't even think the Borders here has Twilight or New Moon; I haven't seen them.

I do remember reading the first chapter of New Moon before it came out in a special paperback edition of Twilight at Walden Books at the Mall, so they might have it. But there's like a month left until Eclipse comes out, so I'll just wait until then. (I have a lot I want to finish reading before then.)
