BONUS/OPTIONAL QUESTION: What are your top ten favourites of your stories at AO3?

let's start with the top ten favourites I have of my stories (in no particular order) at A03:
1. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery (Young Justice - cartoon, Superboy, Black Canary)
I really like all of the YJ pieces I've written but the more I'm becoming familiar with Black Canary's character (mostly in the comics'verse), the more I'm falling in love with her.

2. so that i might be where you are (Stargate Atlantis, McKay/Sheppard)
So I'm not very good at AU stories - or I don't perceive myself as good at writing them, though I love reading them - but this is my McShep Vampire AU that I don't hate and kinda love and wish I could write more in this universe. Ah well.

3. Something Borrowed (Stargate Atlantis, McKay/Sheppard, Weir/Zelenka)
I love the concept of this story but I wish that I had executed it better. I mean Elizabeth and Radek! With Radek wanting to propose to Elizabeth! With Rodney holding onto the ring for some reason! Well...I think in my head while writing this, he was definitely Radek's best man. There is nothing here that isn't AWESOME. Except for my writing of it. I might go back and try to tweak it someday so I can be a little more pleased with the story.

4. the best laid plans of mice and men (Power Rangers: Ninja Storm, Cam/Hunter)

A story with PLOT! A Power Rangers story with plot! That's pretty much the only reason I'm proud of this story. Really. There's so little of plot going on in my head/writing that when it does happen, it should be celebrated.

5. like a journey i just don't have a map for (Power Rangers: Ninja Storm, Cam/Hunter)
I don't hate this story so uh...that's why it's here. Duh, self. I guess I count it as one of my favorites because it was very DIFFICULT to write, even though it was a prompt, again for [livejournal.com profile] smallfandomfest. I had loved the prompt but nothing was coming and it went through revision after revision and finally, this was the end result that didn't make me want to chuck my laptop out my second-story bedroom window. Win, I say.

6. underneath your clothes (Warehouse 13, Joshua/Steve)
Oh hi another porn story. I guess all I write & semi-like are my porn stories?

7. It's what friends are for (Warehouse 13, Joshua, Claudia)
Gen story! That really doesn't have a point too it except I love Steve & Claudia BFFWYLION-ry SO MUCH.

8. Back to the Beginning (Power Rangers: Mystic Force, Madison/Nick)
I tend to be really schmoopy and cheesy when writing in the PR fandom. This is the story that has LESS cheese and schmoop than most others. Not that that means a lot because it still has some schmoop and cheese, but it could be way worse.

9. this is my winter song (Power Rangers: Ninja Force, Cam/Hunter, Blake/Tori)
I love friendship fics and romance fics and this kinda manages to be both in a really small fandom.

10. coming home to you (Fables-comics, Snow White/Bigby Wolf)
I've been so obsessed with Fables this month. I might hate this story in a year or two but it's my first foray into the Fables fandom and I don't think it's *too* bad.

the ones with the most hits:
1. One Night (Big Wolf on Campus, Tommy/Merton) - 880
I am, uh, really, really surprised this got as much hits as it did, considering BWoC is a small-ish fandom. But 1) It was written for Porn Battle and 2) Because it was written for PB, it has porn. So, you know...people love their porn.

2. Insecurities (Shelter, Zach/Shaun) - 739
I'm not surprised this story got as many hits as it did as the Shelter fandom is quite active for being small-ish and I wrote it for [livejournal.com profile] smallfandomfest so it was advertised much more than my stories usually are. (Although this was my first smallfandomfest and Shelter story, so I'm kinda embarrassed by it NOW, but I still kinda like it a little bit and it's less embarrassing than some of my other older stories.)

3. Far More Strange Things (Psych, Shawn/Lassiter) - 681
This was my first Psych story - and first story delving into the Shawn/Lassiter pairing. I suspect it's popular because it's also, surprisingly, part of the faviconQueer Characters Collection.

4. Running Blind into the Sun (Avatar: the Last Airbender, Ozai/Zuko) - 667
This is another porny piece. A very dark smutty piece, sure, with a clusterfuck of warnings preceding it.

5. Slow and Steady (Young Justice - cartoon, Roy/Wally) - 653
SMUTTY SMUT SMUTTY. Yep, pretty much all that needs to be said about why this story is popular.

6. Independence (Shelter, Zach/Shaun) - 600
Much like my only other Shelter story, this story DOESN'T have a lot of porn (actually, in fact, it is quite PORN-LESS), but just by definition of being a small fandom, it has a lot of dedicated fans who will glob up everything in the fandom.

7. Quiet kisses are so hardcore (Young Justice - cartoon, Roy/Wally) - 489
This is SUCH a short piece. And porn-less. I don't know why it's popular. It was written for the YJ anon meme, so that could be it?

8. Dangerous Things (Psych, Shawn/Lassiter) - 471
Ah this was written when this pairing was all the rage in the fandom way back when.

9. Relatively Speaking (Psych, Shawn/Lassiter) - 458
See the commentary for #8.

10. Finding Nemo (Stargate Atlantis, McKay/Sheppard) - 428
Ahh when I tried to attempt a plot. I really dislike this story. I have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote it. It was written for sga_santa so that could be why there's 428 hits on it.

Really, the reason why these stories got as much hits as they did was because they featured hot guys getting it on with other hot guys. Alas, gen and femslash pieces do not get as many hits.
